A few weeks ago I helped a friend with a wedding in Ojai. After the wedding we decided to explore a little, visiting the Meditation Mount. About, 15 miles east of the town center, this quiet climb overlooks the Ojai valley. We met a lovely woman who was staying for a month long meditation retreat. A regular to the meditation center, she gathered flowers from the garden for the afternoon meditation, and gave us a quick tour of the grounds. The space was created in the late 1960s by a woman from New York and a landscaper from Santa Barbara, in the tradition of Tibetan Buddhist site. Most of the site's upkeep is done through stewardship and volunteering. It is open to the public. This is a great southern california treasure of those who need to get away and feel more connected!
We ended the trip with a local homemade Strawberry shortcake from Boccali's:
These are wonderful pictures of a memorable morning and afternoon in Ojai. Thank you!
