So I am slowly crossing off "places on to see" in California. I've always wanted to go to Catalina Island, but finally made it out. It's about an 30 min drive to the San Pedro port and then another hour by boat. When we arrived the weather was very cloudy and later began to drizzle. Our tour was cancelled due to fog so we just wandered around the shoreline up to the Avalon Casino. It was a lovely and relaxing little getaway. It feels miles away from Los Angeles life, and you can still feel a bit of that old world Hollywood allure. Hopefully I can go back on a sunnier trip and explore more or maybe try out some camping.
